It's been a while since I last posted on here. I've just finished my first term at uni, and I'm now home for Christmas. Honestly, I don't know where the past two months have gone, or how I'm already a third of my way through first year. Craaaazy! It's hard to explain how time passed: the ten weeks in York both went quickly and simultaneously felt like a lifetime. All in all, my perception of time has been completely confused, and it's only now that I'm home I've been able to absorb everything! The following photos are a few of my faves from this term:

15th September - 17th September 2015
What I've learned this week: travelling by train alone is a stressful experience. Especially when you have to changeover. But you know what? It's totally, completely worth it when you spot a familiar face waiting amongst strangers when you arrive at the end of the line.
I recently visited my lovely friend in Brighton. With university looming for us both (aka soon to become poor students unable to afford train fares), and us going to live at opposite ends of the UK, we figured that a catch up session was well needed; and it was so, so lovely.
We've actually known each other for almost eight years, but since I moved to France four years ago, we hadn't had much chance to see each other in person. Despite this, we both made a genuine, albeit sporadic, effort to skype/facetime/facebook video chat one another to have a good ol' chin wag every so often. Thanks to technology (and the odd sending of a letter) we managed to keep our friendship strong. I'm so glad we did.

I'm so excited to be introducing my first ever collaboration post. I've been lucky enough to receive a necklace from Happiness Boutique! I felt so spoiled for choice whilst choosing a necklace to review. They're all beautiful! In addition to their lovely products, Happiness Boutique offers free shipping and a customer rewards program which is worth checking out. Not to mention the lovely packaging! What's not to love?

It's been a while since I posted anything music-related to my blog, which sucks. Truth is, I've been making monthly Spotify playlists since February, but I haven't actually blogged about music since March. Say what?! So, this post is a summary of tunes I've been loving recently.
First things first, can I just mention how much I love Spotify. It is, unashamedly, my holy grail. (Sorry, Taylor.) After using it for the best part of five years, I honestly don't think I could live without it. I'd recommend investing in a Premium account if you listen to music on the go, mainly because you can create offline playlists and the app is so much better than the unpaid one. I'm starting to sound like I'm being paid to write all this but I promise you my love for Spotify is genuine and unsponsored. Ha :)
Ok, back to the focus of this post, which is the playlist I've embedded below. I'd love for you to give it a listen! It's quite an eclectic mix: a few old (but gold) tunes, as well as some jamming recent releases - I do feel we've been spoiled with good music over the past few months.
(because i know it's long i just love all these songs ok)

Greece, can you please share some of your beauty?
This summer I enjoyed a fortnight of golden sunsets, glistening seas, salty hair, and gorgeous views in Greece. I can honestly say it is one of the most beautiful places I've ever visited.
Although a lot of time was spent chilling at the hotel's beach, we also hired a car to visit a few other places on Crete. I definitely think it's important to try and see what lies beyond the walls of your hotel, even if it is gorgeous in itself!

Since my last post, I've moved back to England! It feels so strange to be back. Although I am missing things about France, like my friends, my house and my cat (insert crying cat emoji), I did feel like I needed a change. I've only got another few months living with my parents before I'm off to uni as well, which is another, huuuuger change!
Because I haven't posted anything fashion-related for a while, I thought I'd take a few photos of what I've been loving clothes-wise lately. As British summers are usually give or take when it comes to warm weather, I've been reaching for these baggy trousers a lot. They're from Zara, and I love them so much that I bought a pair in grey too! They were absolute lifesavers whilst I was interrailing.
I've also been loving this little crochet black top from Primark. It's so easy to wear. I'd like to invest in some more crochet items as they're so lovely!
In terms of shoes, these black new balance shoes have. not. left. my. feet. Honestly, they're soooo comfortable; I wear nothing but these now! I feel like they can add a cool, sporty vibe to any outfit.

In June, I went interrailing for 22 days with five of my close friends. We visited eight countries and ten different cities, each of which a wholly different (and amazing) experience. I honestly can't put into words how incredible it was. If you have the chance, don't think twice! I won't go into much detail about exactly what I thought of each place because, I don't know, I just feel like no two people can ever share the exact same experience. But that's the beauty of travel! I'll just let the photos do the talking.
(prepare yourselves for a seriously photo-heavy post)

It has taken me a good fifteen minutes to start writing this post. I'm not sure where to start. So much has happened since I last updated my blog! I've just come home from a three week long interrailing trip around Europe, which was absolutely insane. More about that soon though!
In just under two weeks I'll be leaving my house in France to move back to England. Right now I really feel ready for a change of scenery, but I know I'll miss living here a lot. It's been my home for four years now. I've met some amazing amazing people that I hope to stay life-long friends with.
This post is a tiny bit overdue, I hope ya don't mind. Laura (of lordlaura.blogspot.fr) and I took a day trip to Toulouse before we left for interrail, and the photos are cute not to post. We shopped, spent way too long in H&M changing rooms, ate frozen yoghurt and baked in the sun.
Days like these are my absolute favourite. I know I'll look back on this post in a few months and feel all nostalgic and wish for warm weather again.
This might just be one of my favourite photos ever - we look so genuinely happy!

And breathe. I'm back, I've finished my exams, I've graduated from school, and I'm finally done with the IB! HELL YAS. Honestly, the last two years have flown by, and they really were a roller coaster of all the emotions. It feels so surreal to think that a whole chapter of my life has ended. Before I embark upon the next chapter of my life (university meep), I have the longest summer ever to enjoy with my friends, and I'm beyond excited.
love you lots bean x

Brace yourselves for another fashion-related post! I am, no doubt, a (slightly obsessed) shorts devotee. Some people love shoes, others love bags - I love shorts! A week or so ago, whilst I was flicking through the summer H&M magazine that I had found in my letterbox, I came across these suede shorts and instantly fell in love. I therefore couldn't stop myself from buying them whilst shopping the other day - for only 10 euros, they are an absolute bargain. I know I'll get so much wear out of them over the coming months as the weather warms up. Plus, I'm feelin' the vibes that suede is all the rage right now!

I'm so ready and excited for warm weather. Hurry up spring! I recently bought this floral kimono (in the sales for eight euros at Bershka, definite bargain) and I'm so in love with it. I thought it was pretty enough to have a whole photo-heavy post dedicated to it, so here you go!
lots of love, anna x

I turned eighteen last Thursday. Don't get me wrong, I'm pleased that I'm officially "of age" now, but at the same time, it feels strange. It does not feel like a year since I turned seventeen! Anyhow, my lovely friends bought me an insane Bose speaker as part of my birthday present, which I am chuffed about. I love music, and I've never actually owned a speaker, so over the last few days I've made the most of playing music (and dancing to it) non-stop in my room.
Another thing I've been making the most of is Spotify. I genuinely don't think I could live without it! It saddens me that Taylor Swift doesn't share the same sentiment, because that means I can't add her music from her latest album 1989 to my playlists. I'll deal with it though, because she's fab! So, to celebrate the general greatness of music as well as my diverse music taste, I've created a Spotify playlist of some of the jammin' beats I've been listening to and loving lately. I've embedded a link below - I think if you are a user of Spotify too, it will probably play automatically to your Spotify if you have it open (I'm not sure of this, but it did for me ahaha). If not, it should still play!
Anyway, give this playlist a listen. It stars the likes of Milky Chance, James Bay, Lorde, Hozier, Royal Blood, and Arctic Monkeys, to name but a few. I hope that you enjoy listening to what I enjoy listening to! Let me know if you did, as well as if you have any recommendations of music you think I'd like - I love discovering new favourite songs!
lots of love,

One hundred. A number that's pretty meaningless without context. It could be applied to anything, though. One hundred people. One hundred pounds. One hundred cats. One hundred smiles. Recently, this blog reached one hundred followers - I'm still trying to digest this. It may not seem like many to some, but to me, it's a lot! Considering how, only two posts ago, I talked about reaching 50 followers, I find this pretty exciting.
To keep the whole one hundred theme going, I've written a list of one hundred things that are worth smiling about. I could write more. There are so many things to cherish, to love, to feel inspired by, to be happy about. Here is a selection of a (fair) few thing that I thought of. Enjoy.

Pinterest is my current obsession. To those of you who don't know what Pinterest is, ummm, do you live under a rock? Probably. All jokes aside, Pinterest is a virtual pinboard upon which you can collate your interests. Once you've signed up for an account, you can create a collection of "boards" of similar themes and "pin" images that you like to them. You can follow people of similar interests to you - plus, after you have "pinned" a few things, images which Pinterest thinks you'll like automatically start to appear on your feed, which is really cool. I love the concept, so lately I've been hooked and I can't stop pinning!
I've included a five examples of my own boards with images of some of my favourite things I've pinned. These boards are definitely my favourites. Without further ado, enjoy these gorgeous and inspirational pictures!
You can follow me on Pinterest by clicking here
Board 1 // "words words words"
This is definitely the board I've pinned on the most. I'm just in love with quotes and typography and just words in general.
Board 2 // "hair goals"
This is my second most-posted board: hair inspiration! I'm always lusting over different styles and colours. At the moment, wavy hair is the way to go, I think. I also reallllyy want to dye my hair a lighter blonde, but I think I'll wait until summer!
Board 3 // "queen bee lorde"
I love Lorde. I find her inspirational in more ways than solely how she looks, but that being said, her style is ALWAYS so classy and cool and gorgeous. Her hair. Omg. Plus, her friendship with Taylor Swift makes me really happy and in my head I consider myself a member of their squad.
Board 4 // "home goals"
For when I have my own place - I'd love for it to look something along the lines of these photos! Soooo gorgeous.
Board 5 // "nz travels"
And finally, this is a shared board with my friend Laura. It includes photos of New Zealand - if you've read this posts you'll know that I really really want to go to New Zealand again as its such a gorgeous place. One day, a roadtrip will happen!

Let me know if this sparked any ideas or inspiration / fuelled in you a love for Pinterest too! Has anyone else been obsessing over Pinterest lately?
Also - I have 50 followers now! I feel like this is a significant milestone. Yaaaayyyy! Thanks to everyone who has followed me / read my posts / taken the time to comment. I appreciate it so much.

To satisfy my escapist thoughts, I thought I'd post about my holiday to the East Coast of the USA last summer. My family and I flew into New York and stayed there for about five days; we then drove to Cape Cod and spent the rest of our holiday by the sea, before flying back via Boston. Overall, it was honestly one of the best holidays ever, but there is something special about New York City that continuously makes me want to look back at the pictures I took whilst being there.
I've attached some of my favourite photographs that I took whilst being a tourist in New York - hope you enjoy them!
The iconic street signs. The way the city works in terms of streets and avenues and whatnot is pretty confusing - but once you get the hang of it it's fine!
Here's me stood in the entrance of the Empire State Building. Not gonna lie, I was pretty stoked that I was standing in the place where Elf had been filmed. I'm so sad.
The entrance to Grand Central Station and the Empire State Building just chilling in the back there.
The entrance to Grand Central again - I thought the eagle looked cool. This old, authentic building really stands out against it's neighboring skyscrapers.
Inside Grand Central was equally as pretty as outside! I love this photo.
Also inside Grand Central - the prettiest train station I've ever been in!
Instead of going up the Empire State Building, we decided to go to the 'Top of the Rock' (the Rockerfeller building). Here you can see Central Park surrounded by skyscrapers!
Looking through this to get a closer view was pretty cool.
Here it is - the Empire State Building! You can also see the Statue of Liberty in the distance (on the right) if you look really closely. Such an insane view.
Here I am, just chillin next to the Empire State.
The Twin Tower memorials blew me away. They were so beautiful. The names of all of the victims were engraved into stone squares which surrounded the area where the towers stood. I really loved the look of people's hands touching the names of the victims.
Dotted around the memorial were flowers which had been placed into engraved names - this is one of my favourite photos that I took across the whole trip.
We then took a boat trip out to see the Statue of Liberty - here she is in all her glory!
The Brooklyn Bridge.
Me with the Brooklyn bridge!
This was taken in Strawberry Fields, Central Park - the John Lennon Memorial.
It wouldn't be New York without an iconic hot dog stand! I'm hungry just looking at this photo.
And finally - I went to the MoMA (museum of modern art) with my dad. I love Ed Ruscha (pictured above), so seeing some of his paintings in the flesh was really cool!
New York is an incredible place. I've only included a fraction of the pictures I took whilst I was there - maybe I'll post more another time!
Obviously I went to New York in the summer, but I bet New York in the winter is a completely different experience. I'd like to go ice skating next time!
Have you ever been to New York? What was your favourite thing to see? If not, would you like to go?
love anna x
