north wales

a photo-heavy throwback to August, seeing as it's 4°C outside and I want nothing more than to be wearing shorts and sunglasses and eating fish and chips near a waterfall again

the emerald isle

There's something breathtaking about Ireland. Being half-Irish myself, I've visited nearly every year since childhood, either to visit family or to explore. This year we decided on Westport, County Mayo, a recommendation from my aunt for the picturesque scenery. It didn't disappoint - Mayo's mountainous terrain allows for stunning views and it is home to such gorgeous beaches. Just off the coast, an island called Achill was dotted with free-roaming sheep and home to the most beautiful beach I've ever seen, where the road ends and the sea meets the mountains and the sky.

happy place

These photos were taken many moons ago
but I'm fully in love with wintery Whitstable,
I hope late summer gives us pretty skies
to make up for the current dull grey situation

music update & playlist: june

I was lucky enough to get tickets to see The Lumineers in the Manchester Albert Hall in April. It was definitely one of the best concerts I've ever been to: they were incredible live and had such a good connection with the crowd, plus I went with a friend I hadn't seen in ten years so it was lovely to catch up and bond over similar music loves. The venue was once a church, so it was adorned with stained glass windows; the beautiful sounds played and sang by the band were only complemented by the setting. I wish I could relive it!

one year down

I've probably said this one too many times already, but I'll say it once again here: I can't believe I've finished my first year at uni. It has definitely been the quickest year of my life so far. I've learned a whole lot - about my course, despite the few unfinished books and occasional dependence on sparknotes - but also about myself and people in general. I've gained a handful of genuine friendships, a love for a new city, and a relationship with someone who makes me really really happy. (soz for the cliché if you're reading this lex lol)

This post has ended up pretty much twinning my last one, but I wanted to include a lil photo summary of second/third term:
